Todays question from Cat is.......
RE: Font.
We do not have instructions on how to use this wonderful new thinghy. Please post on how to do it. How do we turn it on and off, and what is with all of the little boxes on top? Do they do anything with font?
Remember some of us "OLD" people want to use this stuff too.
Thanks, Cat

Hi Cat, The fonts are the style of letters. Unfortunately the number of fonts they allow are not that vast, so it's difficult to show you exactly what you can do with fonts out there - but they're extremely cool. You've probabaly used them in your email before and it's the same thing here. Here are 5 different examples of a sentence that uses every letter in the alphabet, displayed in 5 different fonts: The quick fox jumps over the lazy brown dog. The quick fox jumps over the lazy brown dog. The quick fox jumps over the lazy brown dogThe quick fox jumps over the lazy brown dogThe quick fox jumps over the lazy brown dog.The quick fox jumps over the lazy brown dogAll you do is type in the word or phrase or sentence. Then highlight the part you want to change the font on. Then go up to the drop down menu and choose the font. One thing is, if you have MS Word that's a great place to see the fonts. The drop down menu in Word displayes the font in its font so you can see what you're choosing. With our page it's a bit of a guessing game. Is that helpful? Please let me know if I've answered your question.

SG-thanks for the reply. I am only asking questions not just for me but for everyone. Just think of it this way...some of you are the teachers and some of us are the students. If this were a classroom- we would ask questions. I am just asking for all the others. I was always the one pupil with my hand up ( ) you know pick me-pick-me. I was hoping that if we asked questions here some of the other students in the class would be able to follow along and find new things to do on the computer, and experiment on their own time when ever they wanted too. Perhaps we will see results the next time they post. Yes I do know about ms word but if others don't have it or know about it- they do now. But on this site I was trying to use it but I didn't know that you had to high-light it. So I learned something about this font also. Thank you,SG. I was hoping to ask a few questions from time to time that perhaps others would be interested in knowing about too. I am "The Queen of Questions". Tomorrow another new questions. Watch for it coming soon to a computer near you.

Todays question is about " GOOGLE ALERTS" I was wondering how do you sign up for them and what do they do for you? Do they send you an E-mail? How often do you know their out there? (Mr Google and friends). Thank you - Cat

Here is an example of a google alert I got today. Ironically it was for the update I did to the main site today! Google trolls the internet and then sends you links to different places that mention Skeet Ulrich. It doesn't pick everything up (and sometimes it doesn't even relate to Skeet but mentions skeet shooting or some other Ulrich, etc.) but it's pretty good at keeping you informed. Google Blogs Alert for: skeet ulrich
Gallery Update - Old Appearance By Capturing Skeet(Capturing Skeet) I've added 15 MQs from the "Into the West" photocall back on June 8, 2005 that I had forgotten I had. Click here for the rest of the pictures! Capturing Skeet - Skeet Ulrich Fansite - community.livejournal.com/capturing_skeet/
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This as-it-happens Google Alert is brought to you by Google. Remove this alert. Create another alert. Manage your alerts. How often you get them depends on how you sign up. They will ask you if you want them as the news happens or twice a day, etc. Go here: www.google.com/alerts?hl=en&gl=Search Terms: Type in "Skeet Ulrich" Type: You want to choose "comprehensive" How Often: Choose how often you want them. I choose "as it happens." Your Email: enter the address you want the alerts to go to. If you need any further help, let me know! - Kelly

Thank you Kelly. It took less time to sign up for Google Alerts than it takes me to brush my teeth. Now I just have to wait for some news on Skeet. P.S. Thanks for the quick response to my question. You ladies do take good care of me. Cat

Is there anyway to get rid of " ADS BY GOOGLE"? I have dial-up and I must admit it takes FOREVER to load up. It's probably out of your control....but I just thought I would ask. Thanks-Cat

Hi Cat,
No sorry, there isn't. This Forum is free because of google. There is no way to get rid of it.

You need to start a new thread Cat. The thread SG started was just a board info thread and it was locked to replies. I was able to because I am an admin. I guess it is a perk of helping run the show here. - Kelly

I am glad that you cleared that up Kelly. I was going to tell SG that you STOLE the reply button. Because you were the last one to use it and you didn't put it back. Sure the BOSS get special treatment- can't be like the rest of us little people here.
But I still love ya and I will forgive you for not telling us about what to do on this new thead.
Thanks -Cat :confused0091:

Hi Cat,
Yes, I locked it to encourage people to start new thread for their topics instead of having them all on one, long 8 page thread. hahahaha
